I have spent the majority of my life working with kids while also juggling the rest of my life–throughout different life stages. I have been in the trenches and have worked in many different education settings. I also am very passionate about maintaining a healthy lifestyle while pouring into others. I am a 4th grade teacher in a public school (though I started out in Kindergarten at a parochial school), Lover of all things natural + Essential Oils
, and an Ambassador for Isagenix
. I am passionate about helping you find happiness, health, and organization in your own life/career…and have created a variety of online classes + programs to lead you through that journey. Through this website, I hope to share some encouragement + inspiration to help you succeed!
Me in a nutshell….
I grew up in the central valley of California to a family of….wait for it…community helpers. My mom is a nurse + my dad worked most of my childhood as a finance director for our church. However, as you extend into the rest of my family, you’ll find mostly educators + administrators. You might say it was in my blood. Many of our family friends were also teachers. I had that sneak peek, you can say, into the secret hectic lives of teachers + the families who supported them.
I spent my childhood babysitting, working in my church’s nursery, + volunteering at various elementary schools to spend that time learning what exactly it took to be a teacher and specifically the “ins and outs” of working with children. I zeroed in on behavior patterns + developmental stages of children…while also learning more about myself in the process. So when it came time to go to college, it was an easy decision to move down to the beach in my pursuit of becoming an education professional.
I started my teaching career in Kindergarten at a small parochial school in Southern California. I loved being creative + opening up the world to my students. Nothing made me happier than to see pure joy on their little faces as they learned to read for the very first time! Fast forward six years, facing major burnout, working overtime (like all teachers do), + barely making rent… I had to make a tough transition into a public school in Central California teaching 4th grade–totally outside of my comfort zone! But what I’m learning is that the same struggles are everywhere! So I made a few changes (that I will share with you on this site) that totally transformed my teaching + created One Happy Teacher…I knew there had to be other teachers out there like me that needed a place to go for more support + encouragement!
